Marynka Rojas Gorgen
NLA Director &
Presidents Council Chair, NAAAP

Marynka Rojas Gorgen enjoys retirement from a career in public service where she specialized in strategic planning and performance management.

Besides her work with NAAAP as NLA Director, Presidents Council Chair, and San Jose Chapter President/Chief Visioning Officer, she is heavily involved in dragon boat at the local, regional, and national level as a coach and paddler for DieselFish Dragon Boat Team, and board member for the Pacific Dragon Boat Association and US Dragon Boat Federation.

Junann Lopez
Senior Credit Rep, Hallmark Cards &
President, NAAAP KC

Junann is President of NAAAP, Kansas City. She has worked at Hallmark Cards for 19 years, and is currently a Senior Credit Representative. She is the Vice Chair of the Asian American Resource Community at Hallmark, (AARCH). Through Hallmark’s volunteer program she has contributed to the community in a variety of organizations.

She was lead for the Finance Division United Way Campaign, Special Olympics committee member, organized the first Disc Golf Fundraiser for Heartland MS Society, and judges debate and forensics tournaments for Basehor Linwood High School.

Ashley Mack
Field Ops Supervisor, Atlanta Gas Light & Executive Director, NAAAP

As Executive Director, Ashley oversees the administration, programs, and strategy of the organization. Ashley joined NAAAP in 2011 and has served roles with increasing levels of operational responsibility. Most recently as Chief Financial Officer, she provided oversight of NAAAP’s financial vision and strategy.

Professionally, Ashley is the first female AAPI field operations leader in Atlanta Gas Light’s 165-year history where she is responsible for the safety and performance of 80+ first responders. Ashley co-founded and became Chairwoman of the first AAPI ERG at Southern Company Gas.

Ashley earned a BBA from Georgia State University and an MBA in accounting from Texas A&M University.

Lauren Garces

President, NAAAP San Diego

From the island of Oahu, Lauren is ABASD’s Marketing, Outreach and Events Manager. In addition to her role with ABASD, Lauren provides event production throughout San Diego County with a focus on community empowerment. A leader in the API community, she serves as President of the National Association of Asian American Professionals – San Diego and is a recipient of the Rising Star Award from the Asian Pacific American Coalition. Most recently, she served as the Vice President/ Creative Director of Silk Road Productions; one of the leading, award-winning event production companies in Southern California.

Her event production passion and engagements are dedicated to providing platforms and connections for diverse communities and cultures to be highlighted, bridged, and empowered. A few of the signature projects she has worked on include: Filipino Sun Festival, Kinda Kamayan, Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair, Asian Cultural Festival, San Diego Night Market, San Diego Ramen Festival, Asian Pacific Islander Festival Day at the San Diego County Fair, San Diego Padres Filipino Heritage Night, Seaworld Lunar New Year, and Convoy Nights.


Kathleen Dang

Vice President, NAAAP San Diego

Kathleen Dang (she/her) is a community building professional, youth educator, and nonprofit supporter. Her current role is Community Representative in the Office of Congresswoman Sara Jacobs. She previously served as the Development & Engagement Director at Pacific Arts Movement, the producers of the San Diego Asian Film Festival. Kathleen is also involved with several cultural, educational, and philanthropic organizations that serve to engage the community in Asian and Asian American focused topics including Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association – San Diego, San Diego Chinese Women’s Association, NAAAP San Diego, Asian Pacific American Legacy, among many others. As an educator, she instructed thousands of students throughout San Diego County on history, art, and culture. She received her Bachelor’s in Archaeology with a minor in Art History & Criticism from UC San Diego and received her Master’s in Education with a specialization in US Education in a Global Context from National University.

Yvonne Gao

Events Director, NAAAP San Diego

Yvonne joined NAAAP San Diego as an Events Director in 2019. She is currently the Program Coordinator and Business Advisor at the Asian Business Association of San Diego, where she provides culturally responsive business development and capacity-building services for minority business enterprises (MBE) of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) descent in San Diego and Imperial Counties. . Before joining ABASD, Yvonne worked in the events and media industries in Australia and China. Her passion for events has inspired her to continue assisting businesses in achieving their business goals and developing long-term customer relationships.

Yvonne holds an MBA from Point Loma Nazarene University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting and Anchoring from the Communication University of China.

Nancy Ly

Self-Care & Wellness Director,

NAAAP San Diego

Nancy Ly is a Mindset Coach & Cross-Cultural Diversity Consultant. She works with leaders, entrepreneurs and growth-minded individuals to heal & elevate their mindsets in order to live and lead from a place of Wholeness, Authenticity, and Deep Alignment. As a Coach, she works with the subconscious mind and breathwork to heal generational trauma and guide people on their journey toward Being, Becoming & Belonging. As a Consultant, her work is focused on creating organizational alignment, cultural awareness, and inclusive spaces via leadership, team, and systematic processes.

Nancy’s work is centered around holistic healing, community care, leadership and bridge-building. As someone who has struggled with her own journey of mental health, Nancy is passionate about reclaiming shame as part of the beauty and cultural identity of the AAPI diaspora & BIPOC community, and calling people toward greatness by loving all parts of themselves in order to share their gifts and legacy to the world.

Pamela Peredo

Marketing Director, NAAAP San Diego

Pamela is a brand strategist based in San Diego, CA. Much of her work involves curating content with data tech leader, The Lifetime Value Co., as well as consulting small businesses through the California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce.

Pamela is a leading advocate for community support, professional development, and mental health. She is committed to engaging minority professionals, as the NAAAP San Diego Marketing Director, and has further worked with NAAAP Self-Care and Wellness. When not working on local projects, you’ll most likely find her catching a flight or enjoying a bite within the SD food scene.

John Chiu

Academic & Business Outreach Director, NAAAP San Diego

John Chiu joined NAAAP in 2018 as the Academic & Business Outreach Director. His main role is to build relationships with Asian groups at local colleges & universities as well as local business partners. Professionally, John is a Systems Engineer in the Telecommunications industry, but has extensive experience in the computer networking and aerospace industries. He received a BS Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, MS Network Engineering from USC, and a MS in Systems Engineering from UCSD. When not working, his hobbies including travel, reading, sailing, and finding good food.
